Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to create a storybook?
The 12-page story is created first. Illustration previews usually take up to a few minutes per scene and may wait briefly in the queue during busy periods.
Can I write the whole story myself?
Yes. You can write the complete text yourself, or ask for an optional draft and rewrite any part of it. Illustrations are generated from the final text on your pages.
Which ages are the stories designed for?
Choose an optional reading range after describing the story: under 1, 1–3, 3–5, or 5–8. You do not need to provide an exact age.
Can I order a printed book?
Yes. Choose the $49.99 Printed plan or add print to a completed Digital book for $20. Exact Lulu shipping and applicable tax are quoted and paid separately only after you approve the final proof and delivery address.
What can I create for free?
You can create the opening-page concept before signing in. After secure Google or Facebook sign-in, your first custom illustration preview is included. No card is required.
Do I need to upload a photo of my child?
No. Reference photos are optional. You can describe the character’s appearance in words instead.
Can I choose the illustration style?
Yes. The current test set includes Whimsical Gouache, Cinematic Fairy Tale, Chibi Hero, and Watercolor & Pencil. The selected art direction stays fixed across the book.
What counts as an illustration generation?
Each of 12 illustrated pages has its own allowance of 3 LOW previews and 1 HIGH final, so one page cannot consume the rest of the book. Optional global credits cost 1 for LOW and 8 for an additional HIGH render; packs start at $7.99.
